MOUNT MATUTUM GUYAS. A group of backyard farmers from the town of Tupi, South Cotabato has offered to supply us GIANT GUYABANOS. The process is easy enough — they’ll gather their Guyabanos and send them by plane flying out of GenSan airport. Here is an image showing a Philippine Airlines aircraft with Mount Matutum in the background. Tupi is somewhere at the distant base of the volcano.

Actually, ilang beses na sila actually nag-offer but Andie and I are hesitant to say yes. Baka mapitpit, sayang. The Guyabano pictures they are sending us are actually amazing. Sobrang quality. I hate to say this, but these Guyabanos look better than those we have gotten so far from Luzon. I believe that it has something to do with the richness of the soil, that Mount Matutum is a dormant volcano and Tupi is nestled at its foot. I am not surpised that this town is considered as the fruit and vegetable basket of South Cotabato. Some of the farms from which these Guyabanos come from are right there at the foothills of this volcano.
