Guimaras Mango RR Rescue

WE ASK FOR GUIMARAS. With the conclusion of the Guimaras Manggahan Festival 2026, when all the tourists have gone home and all is quiet again, the MANGO farmers have a problem. The biggest and best mangoes have been celebrated, eaten, sold — the smaller ones and the rejects, the RR’s, remain on the trees. We have learned during our trip there that 40% of mangoes are RR’s. They are not celebrated, they are hard to sell. In past post-Manggahan Festival years, we helped our farmers with RR’s. By telling Rural Rising members that this is the case. By asking if we take these RR’s, give them a hot bath before like the “good” mangoes, can we together help Guimaras farmers? By promising that if they are as sweet or even sweeter than their export quality treemates, but cheapers, can we together give the farmers a little more income? So this is our goal this week, Rural Rising members. To gather enough of us to warrant a Rescue Buy™ for Mangoes in the island of Guimaras, can we ask for your help?
