Be Well Hospital Bags

“MA’AM ANDIE, SALAMAT”. Bong struggled and was able to say “Ma’am Andie, salamat”. Andie shed tears last night when she saw this video. Our dear Bong. This will probably be the last time we shall post about him until he gets significantly better. He’s still on NGT, he still cannot speak, you can see that he tries. We don’t know when he will be well enough to get out of the hospital. We know that a lot of people love him. Not everyone in Bong’s situation has the same support he has. We are very grateful for the heroes who care for him and the other patients, working long hours, often thanklessly.

What we’d like to do today is to put together 100 bags of “BE WELL HOSPITAL BAGS” to give away at Government Hospitals. 50 bags to random Charity Ward Patients and 50 bags to random Nurses Stations. We’d like to do it at the East Avenue Medical Center first. This whole month we have seen, we have been touched by, the heroic work that government nurses do, and these fruit bags will tell them how well they are doing, to always “Be well”. The patients of course, we know that they need fruits that most of them can afford to buy only in single pieces. These hospital will help them get well.

We are doing this for the two reasons above and to raise a few more pesos to help Bong get better.

BE WELL HOSPITAL BAGS. It’s a bag of containing a couple Ponkan oranges, a couple of Navel oranges, a few pieces of Passion Fruit, and a plastic bag of boiled Kalim-Aw Sweet Potato. Readily edible, food for the body and soul.

Our inventory of these produce is as follows: Poncan (60 kilos), Passionfruit (200+ pieces), Navels (84 kilos) and Kalim- aw kamote big (88 kilos). So we can do 100 bags with these.
