Back read the story:

HOW WE DISCOVERED AGRICULTURAL GOLD. We have been questing for local Japanese Sweet Potato for months now. Is there such a thing? Far and wide we’ve cast about to find a farmer that grew it. We went to Zambales, the center of sweet potato production but the farmers there can only offer their “kinarot” kamote, a variety with deep orange flesh. We asked the hardy farmers of Pangasinan but they insisted that we were mistaken, there is no such thing as Japanese Sweet Potato, only Japanese Sweet Corn. In Nasugbu, Batangas, we went there because they have the “kamoteng baging” but not the kind we were looking for. We had high hopes for Brgy. Lusod in Kabayan, the hard-to-get-to home of the hard-to-come-by yellow kamotes, but no luck. Our final bet was Besao, Mt. Province, where you can get “ubehans”—superb kamotes, wrong color. We were just about to declare that there was no such thing as a local Japanese Sweet Potato when a hazy picture of the kamote we were looking for—and later a video—emerged from the town of Aglipay in Quirino province. Longish in shape, reddish in skin, yellow inside flesh. We asked our man there to cook and tastes, he reports “matamis po, lagkitan po”. You know that thing they say when it tastes like ___, looks like ___, smells like ___, feels like ___, then it must be ____. This is the same thing. We’re about to shout “Eureka!”. This sweet potato prefers to grow wild along the sides of mountains, it is quite the botanical hermit. We are telling the farmer that he has something really special, he has agricultural gold on his hands.
