Calamansi Rescue

HUMP YOUR CALAMANSI DAY. We’re going to do a CALAMANSI Rescue Buy in Aurora, Isabela. These are the same group of farmers we met and helped during the pandemic. The first itme they came to us, it was to appeal for help for 7 tons of calamansi. What happened was a well-known toyomansi maker was expecting a shipload of calamansi from Mindoro. The ship carrying the Mindoro calamansi got stuck on a reef somewhere so the manufacturer was looking at a delay in the production. They looked to Isabela for an alternative source of calamansi and gave these farmers an order for 7 tons of calamansi. Ship gets unstuck, manufacturer cancels its order, leaving the farmers holding the bag — of tons of already-harvested calamansi. That Calamansi rescue was one of RuRi’s finest moments. Members responded magnificently, coming in droves to pick up bags of calamansi. We even held a “HUMP YOUR CALAMANSI DAY”. Here are the pictures.
