Carrot Rescue Box

WE’RE HERE. Amid the cries of farmers dumping carrots, the news reports, the denials, and prices plummeting to record lows, where is Rural Rising in all this? Yung farmer pa nag post ang parang sinisisi, dinidiin. We must bring the group together to help the farmers, to make a strong effort for Carrot. South members, kuha kayo ng 1 ton please. Central members, 1 ton? RuRi West patron, we’ll push and advocate for 2 tons. La Mesa members, we shall go there soon with at least 500 kilos of Carrots.

This is what we shall do: We’ll rescue the first 1,000 kilos of Carrots in what will likely be the first of many Rescue Buys. We’ll take the boxes we use for Box-All-You-Can (10” x 10” x 8” and bigger) and fill them with carrots. 100 boxes. Each box contain 8~ 10 kilos of Carrots (depends sa size) = 1,000 kilos. A hundred members to buy or donate for just P249 per box. Parang 25 per kilo, panalo na lahat. Panalo yung farmer kasi yun ang cost to grow niya ng Carrot, P25 ~ 30. Panalo consumers like you and me kasi P60/kilo pa rin ang carrots here in Metro Manila, palengke yun, doble pa sa supermarket, tama? The whole P25 you give, we shall give to the farmer, walang “kita” ang RuRi doon for logistics and related expenses. For this effort, RuRi will rely on donations para sa gasolina, truck rentals, toll, driver at tao, iba pa doon ang cost pag nasa QC na.
