HELP SA HABAGAT. Our farmers say na sobra ang nangyari sa gulay nila dahil sa bagyo, na-second class na daw lahat ng leafies nila. Sobra daw ang ulan ngayun sa Benguet, parang may bagyo pa rin, if not worse. Our farmers are struggling with the conditions — basa ang gulay na ibinabalot, basa ang gulay na ibinabiyahe. Rot sets in faster. Multiple landslides across the feeder roads and the main highway, travel time is delayed further. It is so easy for our farmers to not harvest and not travel at all, some have actually said it, to let it all rot “tutal second class naman”. Terrible.

FRUITY FRIDAY. We’re coming out for our highland farmers by selling lowland/midland FRUITS that did make it to Rural Rising. Looking for 70 members to give P399, we shall give you 5 kilos in return of at least 4 of the following fruits — Guyabano, Diana Watermelon, Pineapple, Lacatan or Tumok Banana, Papaya and Lemon. Halo-halo, parang P80 per kilo na lang.

Of that P399, we are still able to give P50 to a farmer. So 70 lots x P50 = P3,500, that amount will go to one farmer as financial assistance. We’ll choose one from Kabayan, Benguet. Later we’ll figure out a second way to raise another P3,500, this time to fuel the motorcycles na nakakabit sa mga tramline sa SSSS. 26 families din matutulungan, para mas mabilis maitawid ang mga gulay.
