Approximately 30%~40% of the mangoes are classified as RR, which is a code for “rejects”. Undersized and blistered, they are the reason why the rest of the Mangoes are able to go off and conquer the world. Sila yung hindi minamahal at inalagaan. These sad provincial siblings are deemed fit only for the local market, to fetch a local price that is 50% less. We found these RR Mangoes are just as sweet — and if we gave them a just price, it would really help the farmers. This learning is what drives us to do this Rescue Buy™.
