Lettuce Green Ice

TOO LATE THE HERO. Mahirap na ito intindihin. Incredibly, while the prices of vegetable are rising ever higher in Metro Manila, farmers are dumping vegetables in Benguet. This was in Tublay, Benguet, you can see on the watermark that this happened last January 5, 2025. One ton of LETTUCE dumped by the side of the road like garbage, the farmer failed to find a buyer for it. There is a so-called “overproduction” of lettuce right now in Benguet, while in Metro Manila there are hundreds of thousands of buyers who would be happy to pay a good price for lettuce like this. When we asked if we could still rescue some of the lettuce, they said “Awanin ngay ma’am nalutloten” (Too late, they’ve already cooked in the heat).

LOOKING OF LETTUCE HEROS. Please can we fly to Tublay in order to Rescue Buy “Lettuce in Distress”. We have identified a two GREEN ICE lettuce farmers who needs help, they are afraid to harvest lest they meet the same fate. We hope to rescue 1 ton of Lettuce. This effort will not cure the cancer afflicting our agriculture but it will save two farmers today.

Important Note: We are rescuing Green Ice lettuce, not Iceberg Lettuce.
