MATULUNGIN PUMPKIN. Despite the burden of finding buyers lying heavy on his shoulders, this farmer still knows how to give. After learning that we would be donating some of his pumpkins to the fire victims of Sitio Masagana, he has readily agreed to donate to them 200 kilos of his precious harvest. Reading the translation of what he said, how can you not admire him? How can he be so helpful and generous despite his difficulties? It’s true talaga that the most kind-hearted people are the ones who have the least.

This is what he said: “Hello, good morning mga madam mga sir. Humihingi ako ng tulong sa Rural Rising Philippines na tulungan na [maibenta] yung Kalabasa ko. Ito yung nasira noong bagyong Pepito. Meron namang konting naiwan, pero ganito naman ang presyo. Kasalukuyan kaming nag-aani. Mga madam mga sir, ito yung mga kasama kong nag-aani. Nag-hihintay ako ng mas magandang presyo kaso baka mas lalong masira sa pag-aantay. Sana matulungan niyo ako. Mgandang umaga mga madam sir.”
