Turmeric

RESCUE BUY It’s turned out to be a weak campaign for th Turmeric (Luyang Dilaw) but we understand. We tried to bundle it with honey, so that people could make tea. We bought a lot of it so that we can make RuRi Eggs. In the end, of the 1,500 kilos that this farmer hoped to sell to us, at the end of two weeks, we returned with an order of just 100 kilos. Healthy ang turmeric but not all of us know what to do with it. The farmer of coure saidv“Okay lang po,” but the disappointment was in her voice. She will sell the Turmeric for just P20/kilo. There will be no education money from this harvest, she will likely take her chances with another produce next season.

This is our last ditch effort to sell more Turmeric, without the honey, for the lowest possible price, and then we have to move on to help other produce.

ACADEMIC TURMERIC. If all this Turmeric is sold, if a minor miracle happens, the proceeds would go towards education. This explains why the Turmeric was harvested in bulk. This is a mother on need. We understand now. We are resolved to help her with her noble and natural resolve to help her children. Towards the last part she says something about asking this for the children. We’ve farmers like this value education above all else because they see it as a way out of poverty. How can we not help?
