Yellow Corn

MAPAGPALANG MAIS. We hope to rain blessings on this corn farmer on Monday, by taking all of her corn. The corn behind her was the first pitas and it was bought for a pittance. Because of her obvious frailty and age, she could not harvest the Corn herself, instead she had to pay men to do it for her. The proceeds — because konti lang naani, because mura ang bili ng buyers s atag-ulan, because the men insist to be paid the same price — left very little for her. This second and last pitas is her only chance to make a living. She will live on what she makes for the next 90 days. Seeing her, knowing there will be months of rainy hardship ahead, we hope to bless her with a good price. The corn is yellow and the opportunity to help is open.
