ADLAI TO CRY. We are happy to announce the imminent arrival of ADLAI. All our love to our farmers in Nasugbu who did not lose hope, who did not cry when #TyphoonKristine ravaged the Adlai fields. The people of Batangas are indeed as hardy as their Adlai.

ADLAI SETBACK. We were already very sad to see images and videos of the widespread destruction wrought by #TyphoonKristine on many towns in Batangas. We are sadder today to learn that our ADLAI farms in Nasugbu and Ibaan were not spared. Stong winds and excessive rain have bent and broken the plants. The grains are not yet ready to be harvested. The only harvest our farmers will see will be from the plants that manage to survive months from now. We pray that what they say about Adlai being “immortal” translates also to its hardiness. We have no choice but to try to be positive. We have no choice but to source some Adlai from Mindanao to fulfill our obligations to members who joined the Growth Buy for Adlai. It could have been worse. Our Batangas farmers are lucky to still have a harvest to expect at all, and that they are safe. We thank God for this.
